Clinton County Sheriff’s Office Receives 2024 Patrick Leahy Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office announced its receipt of the Patrick Leahy Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant for the fiscal year 2024, which totals $11,272.86 allotted to purchase bulletproof vests for the department.

According to the department, the Patrick Leahy Bulletproof Vest Partnership reimburses states, units of local government and federally recognized Indian tribes for up to 50-percent of the cost of body armor vests purchased  for law enforcement officers.

The department stated that since 1999, over 13,000 jurisdictions have participated in the program, and a total of $573 million in federal funds have been distributed to aid with the purchase of over 1.5 million body armor vests.
