The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office warned of a new scam entering the Clinton County community involving scam callers contacting victims with requests to collect DNA or to meet up with them while impersonating members of the Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office stated that it has received reports of the calls, and it stated that recipients of the calls should never meet with the caller under any circumstance and should verify the validity of the request by contacting the Sheriff’s Office directly.
