Clinton County SWCD Tree Seedling Give-A-Way Set for Next Week

In celebration of Arbor Day and Soil and Water Stewardship Week, the Clinton County Soil and Water Conservation District will be offering free tree seedlings to the public again this year.

This year we would like to encourage everyone to celebrate the many benefits of trees by encouraging them plant native trees of their own!  Trees and forests provide clean air and water, healthy soil, wildlife habitat, and valuable resources that we use every day.

Bare-root native tree seedlings will be available for pick-up on the porch of the USDA Service Center located at 860 S. Prairie Ave., Frankfort, IN.  Three tree species are being offered –  White Oak, Bur Oak, and Pecan – while supplies last.

Limit of five trees per family.  You may pick up tree seedlings Monday April 24 through Friday April 28 during regular business hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Planting instructions will be provided.  Support for this event is provided in part through the South Fork Wildcat Creek Stewardship Initiative.
