The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Wind Advisory for all of central Indiana, including Clinton County, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to around 45 mph expected. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. These winds are expected outside of thunderstorms, and highest of these winds are expected late morning into the afternoon.
Besides Clinton, other affected areas include Bartholomew, Boone, Brown, Carroll, Clay, Daviess, Decatur, Delaware, Fountain, Greene, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, Knox, Lawrence, Madison, Marion, Martin, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, Sullivan, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Vermillion, Vigo and Warren counties.
People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
