Utility Service Board General Manager Todd Corrie was selected unanimously for the vacancy as Clinton County Councilman District 2 Thursday afternoon at Old Stoney.
Corrie, who was the only person that ran for the position that became available when Jake Myers announced his resignation effective December 31. Corrie starts off with a brand new four-year term.
“It’s just something that I have enjoyed when I was on the city council,” said Corrie. “The opportunity came up and I thought I would go for it and see what happens. I’m excited no matter what.”
Clinton County Republican Chairman Jim Moyer said having only one candidate is a rarity.
“We were able to get it done quickly because only had one candidate,” said Moyer. “I think even if we’d have more candidates, Todd would have probably been selected anyway.”
