The Learning Network of Clinton County is gearing up for its Fundraising Day of the Dead Gala on Friday, Nov. 3.
The Day of the Dead Gala celebrates Día de los Muertos, a holiday of Mexican origin that celebrates both life and death and holds a special place in the hearts of many members of the Clinton County community.
“Come be part of an evening filled with culture, connection and charitable giving,” the organizers wrote. “We invite individuals and sponsors alike to join us in making a difference. Your support ensures our traditions thrive and our community flourishes.”
The event will feature numerous activities for the community to enjoy, such as food from Mixteca, photo booths, dances and much more alongside the colorful and cherished decor that reflects the spirit of the Day of the Dead.
“Come dressed for a masked ball and dance the night away,” the organizers wrote. “Don’t have a mask? Don’t worry. You can buy a mask, have your face painted and have your picture taken in our photo booth for an extra charge.”
The gala is open to community members 18 or older, and tickets may be purchased online at the Day of the Dead Gala website. Tickets cost $25 each, and sponsor tickets and bundles are available. Only the first 200 purchasers will be admitted into the gala.
“Your ticket or sponsorship package not only grants you access to this event, but also supports our mission to honor and celebrate cultural traditions,” the organizers posted. “Don’t miss out.”
The funds raised through the Day of the Dead Gala will be utilized by the Learning Network to continue its English, citizenship, technology, conversational Spanish and high school equivalency classes, its health resources, aids, information and diabetes prevention resources, and its summer kids workshop, scholarship information resources and the binational health fair.
The gala will kick off Friday, Nov. 3 at 51 West Event Center at 51 W. Clinton St. in Frankfort from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets should be purchased in advance for admittance.
