Delphi Police Department Issues Reminder For Motorcyclists Below The Age Of 18

The Delphi Police Department issued a reminder for motorcyclists as the weather warms and the motorcycles begin to traverse the roads.

According to the department, an individual who is younger than 18 who is operating or riding a motorcycle must always wear a helmet that meats Department of Transportation standards, and the motorcyclist must always wear glasses, goggles or a transparent face shield.

According to the Indiana Code, minors must always abide by the guidelines when operating or riding on a motorcycle or motor-driven cycle on the streets or highway in Indiana.

The code also states that an exception is made for autocycles where the guidelines are not required.
