The Carroll County community bound together over the weekend to support youth entrepreneurs and local teachers by supporting a young man’s lemonade stand as he marketed his product toward raising funds for local teachers.

Multiple Delphi Police Department officers and Carroll County Sheriff’s Office deputies, including Deputy Drew Yoder, Sgt. Colin Deckard and Officer Clint McLeland, visited Big Jake’s lemonade stand that was opened for business over the weekend to raise funds to support local teachers ahead of the 2024-2025 school year.

According to the department, Big Jake Hart raised over $1,000 for the cause as he sold lemonade and pink lemonade to Carroll County community members. Big Jake’s mother, Hunter Hart, shared more about the reasoning behind the lemonade stand and how she felt as Big Jake dedicated his time to supporting the cause.

“One proud mom,” Hart said. “This is a great way to give back to those that care for our children all year long.”

According to Yoder, the cause was a draw for the Delphi community, but another aspect that appealed to passersby was that “the lemonade was delicious.”

Community members who were unable to attend the lemonade stand that ran on Sunday, July 21 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Delphi may also donate to the cause on Venmo at @hunter-aspen.
