Dennis Michael Posey, 73, of Frankfort, Ind., passed away September 23, 2025 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He was born on October 11, 1951 in Frankfort to Elmer and Gladys (Aaron) Posey. He married Renee “Chris” Peter on June 8, 1992 and she survives.
Dennis was a graduate of Frankfort High School. In his younger years, he worked with his father at Posey & Richardson Car Dealership in Frankfort. He started at Frito Lay in Frankfort in 1980, helping to build it from the ground up and continued there in maintenance for over 40 years, retiring in 2016. He loved birds and had owned several parrots. An avid racing, baseball, and football fan, he enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Ravens. Dennis had an exceptional mind and was definitely not someone you wanted to challenge in Jeopardy or Scrabble!
Surviving along with his wife, Chris, are his children: Aaron Posey of Colorado, Andrea Redmon of Frankfort, and Brady (Tabitha) Posey of Frankfort, grandchildren: Raven, Ian, Brevon, Austin, Jada, Mason, and Tevy, and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Melinna Posey, and siblings: Sonny, Elmer Jr., and Marlene.
Friends may gather for a memorial visitation from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort. In accordance with Dennis’s wishes, casual attire is requested. Private Family Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Frankfort.
