Mr. Donald Lake, 86, of Mooresville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born May 24, 1940, in Indianapolis, the thirteenth child out of fourteen to the late Thomas Lake, Sr. and Lima Belle (Yates) Lake.
On September 6, 1981, he was united in marriage to Linda Kay (Rudisill) Lake in Indianapolis; she survives.
Donald attended Indianapolis schools. He worked as a meat cutter from a young age at various places and retired from McFarland Foods in Indianapolis.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great–great grandfather, Donald loved his family dearly. He was a golden gloves boxer in his youth. During his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, shooting sports and fishing.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Linda Lake; six children, Tony (Leanne) Lake of Greensburg, Jeff (Wendy) Brake of Paragon, Nick (Sherry) Lake of Carmel, Teresa (John) Morton of Leesburg, Florida, Darlene (Al) Perry of Beech Grove, and Robert (Melanie) Lake of Carmel; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great–great grandchildren; three siblings, Robert “Bobby” (Michelle), Dudley (Virginia), and Marie; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by ten siblings.
Funeral Services are planned for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
