He was a proud maintenance man and had the talent and skill to fix things. His hands were never idle, tinkering and crafting, always ready to lend a hand to a neighbor or friend. His quick wit, infectious humor, and laugh never ceased, but it was his unwavering love for his family that truly defined him.
Donald’s heart belonged to his three daughters, a value instilled in him by his beloved parents, Don and Carmen Arend, who taught him the enduring power of family and love. He considered his daughters his greatest treasure.
A man of Catholic faith, Donald held his family above all else.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, cherished by his daughters, Kimberly Arend Brown, Melissa Wesson and her husband, Michael, and Holly Mooney and her husband, Joseph, all of Amarillo, Texas. His memory will live on through his grandchildren, Brandon Wesson, Dyllion Wesson, Casey Wesson, Allie Wesson, and Aralee (AJ) Brown, and his great-grandson, Waylon Wesson. He is also survived by his siblings, Mike Arend, Eddie Arend, and Danny Arend, and many nieces and nephews that he loved.
Donald was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Paul Arend, and his brother, Patrick Arend.
A private celebration of Donald’s life will be held at a later date. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his cremation arrangements.
