The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office released information regarding a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred in Rossville early Sunday morning.
On Jan. 19, just before 3:15 a.m., Clinton County Sheriff’s Office deputies reportedly responded to a report of a single vehicle crash in the area of 200 W. Main St. in Rossville.
The department stated that preliminary investigations indicated that for an unknown reason, a vehicle ran off the south side of State Road 26 or Main Street. The vehicle reportedly struck a utility pole and then a tree at a high rate of speed before coming to rest in the middle of the eastbound lane of State Road 26.
The department reported that the driver, who was later identified as Chad Munk, 41, of Henryville, was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Clinton County Central Dispatch, Clinton County Coroner’s Office, Rossville Fire and EMS, Clinton County EMS, Dave’s Body Shop, Duke Energy and Rossville Police Department.
