The Frankfort’s Unified Neighborhoods, F.U.N., group will be hosting events throughout the afternoon of the Fire and Ice Festival set to introduce a “cool” atmosphere to downtown Frankfort on Saturday, Feb. 8.
The F.U.N. group will be hosting a Frankfort Fire Truck Touch-A-Truck event from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., a meatball eating contest at 2:30 p.m. and a coloring contest from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8.
The meatball eating contest will begin at 2:30 p.m. with two ways to enter, including getting a sponsor sheet to raise money or paying $15 at the door. Money raised will contribute to “Shop with a Fireman” for Christmas this year. Winners will be those who eat the most half-ounce meatballs and those who raise the most money.
The coloring contest will be held for age groups of 0 to 3, 4 to 8 and 9 to 12. Winners will receive a $25 gift card.
The group will also hand out free hot chocolate and coffee from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
All of the events will take place at Hot Rod’s Family Diner at 8 S. Main St. in Frankfort. For more information, contact Rodney at 765-242-6410 or Brandon at 317-370-5779.
