On May 25, 2026, just after 11:00 a.m., troopers with the Indiana State Police responded to a fatal crash on Interstate 65 near the 164 mile marker.
A preliminary investigation by Trooper Fike revealed that a motorcycle was traveling northbound on I-65 when, for a reason still under investigation, the rider lost control, traveled into the median, and struck the cable barrier.
Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene, the rider was pronounced deceased.
The rider’s identity will be released by the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office at a later time pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by Tippecanoe County Coroners Office, Sheffield Fire Department, and Tippecanoe County EMS.
There is no further information to release at this time.
