The Frankfort Market organizer MaryLynn Peter announced that the final outdoor market set for tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 28 will be canceled due to the weather as the indoor market promises to open on Oct. 12, and she also announced the upcoming Tree Lighting Festival Auction to raise funds for the festival set to kick off in December.
Peter announced this week that following an evaluation of the weather and how Saturday’s weather appears unpredictable, The Frankfort Market will not be continuing for its final outdoor market of the season tomorrow, Sept. 28 at Prairie Creek Park. Peter stated that “because so many of the vendors have to prepare the day before, some all week, I have decided to call off the market for Saturday.”
The Frankfort Market will kick back off with the indoor market on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Edward Jones Building at the Clinton County Fairgrounds.
In the midst of the decision to cancel, Peter announced the exciting launch of the Tree Lighting Festival Auction, which is currently accepting items for the auction. The auction is intended to raise funds for the Tree Lighting Festival in December, and items will be listed online at Tree Lighting Festival Auction 2024 on Facebook from Oct. 12 through Oct. 26 this year.
Item donations may be coordinated by contacting MaryLynn Peter on Facebook to arrange pick-up or delivery. Items may include paintings, antiques, jewelry, purses, gift certificates, decorative items and more.
The Tree Lighting Festival will take place at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 at Prairie Creek Park with entertainment, contests and the staple Tree Lighting Ceremony for the community to enjoy.
