On Monday, at approximately 3:20 a.m., the Howard County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene of an active fire at Summerset Apartments located at 2978 Heritage Drive in Kokomo in reference to a death investigation. Kokomo Fire Department was dispatched to the scene at 2:46 a.m.
The deceased has been identified as Glenda A. Newton, Age 69. She was a resident of the apartment complex. No other injuries have been reported.
An autopsy will be conducted later today at the Howard County Coroner’s Office by a Forensic Pathologist from Central Indiana Forensic Associates.
