Floyd Clinton “Shorty” Hedrick, 80, of rural Frankfort, passed away July 10, 2025 at his home. He was born December 31, 1944 in Viola, Illinois to Don & Evelyn (Stegall) Hedrick. He married Clara Jean Hartzell on October 25, 1966 in Lincoln, Illinois and she preceded him in death on May 27, 2001.
Floyd was a 1964 graduate of high school in Alexis, Illinois. He had lived in Lincoln Illinois, working for Lynn & Fink for 28 years, retiring in March 1996. He then worked at Eaton Corporation in Lincoln, IL from 1999-2007. He was a 57-year member of the Eagles Lodge in Lincoln, and was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 112 for 5 years. Floyd enjoyed camping, fishing and bowling.
Floyd is survived by his daughter, Gitana Hedrick-Bloodworth of Clinton, IL, son, Tommy Joe Hedrick of Eugene, OR, 2 grandchildren, Jeremy Hedrick and Clinton Young and 5 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Jean in 2001, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Tommy Joe Hedrick Jr. in 1989, companion, Florance Heath in 2021, great-grandson, William Lee Hedrick in 2014, brother, Gene Hedrick in 2024, 2 sisters, Bonnie Goben in 2020, and Delma Jo Hedrick in 2012.
Per Floyd’s wishes, no services will be held. Clinton County Crematory and Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort are assisting the family with arrangements. Please visit goodwinfuneralhome.com to leave a condolence.
