The Frankfort Police Department has partnered with WeCare Recovery Home and the United Way for Clinton County to launch a fundraising effort resulting in the possibility of Police Chief Scott Shoemaker skydiving.
During the fundraising effort, a portion of the funds raised will benefit the Frankfort Police Department K9 Program to aid K9 Athena, who is handled by Lt. Chris Salaba, in her retirement as well as secure a new K9 partner for Salaba. Another portion of the funds will benefit WeCare Recovery Home to assist the residents with their path to recovery. The final portion of funds will benefit the United Way for Clinton County as they continue their mission of supporting local nonprofits and community members throughout the year.
According to the police department, Chief Shoemaker has agreed to jimp out of a plan in a tandem skydive if the $20,000 fundraising goal is met by Halloween, Oct. 31. Community members may donate to the causes by texting JUMP24 to 53-555.
“Let’s get Chief Shoemaker in the air,” the department released.
