The Frankfort Community Public Library has announced that a Frankfort artist and author who just published her first book will be visiting the library for a special event.
The library stated that Wendy Simon, a Frankfort-based mixed media artist and author, will be appearing at the Frankfort Community Public Library on April 27 at noon to discuss her first published book, Discovering Perhaps.
Simon has become a renowned artist in the region as she sculpts animals with unique personalities on a daily basis, and her new novel focuses upon her artwork, bringing her whimsical cartoon taxidermy characters to life in a unique way.
Discovering Perhaps is described as “a captivating journey of courage, self-discovery and the transformative force of love.” The novel focuses on the main character of Violet as she embarks on a quest to save a magical world and discovers the true essence of home, family and the limitless possibilities awaiting those who dare to explore.
Simon will meet with community members in Harry’s Coffee Bar to discuss her book, which is the first in what will become a trilogy, alongside how she became inspired to bring her mixed media artwork to life within the pages of Discovering Perhaps.
