Frankfort Hot Dog Alumni Hall of Fame Events This Weekend

The Board of Directors of the Frankfort Hot Dog Alumni Hall of Fame announced their upcoming events for the weekend of the Hot Dog Festival. On Thursday, July 24th at 6 pm in the Skanta Theatre at the Frankfort Community Public Library, the Hall of Fame will be featured on the “Hoosier Storytellers” program. The program will feature Board Members Don Rusk and Craig Mundell as well as two of this year’s inductees—Dr. Tom Pearcy and Janet Priest. The program will last approximately 1 hour and will be broadcast on YouTube Live starting at 6 pm.

On Friday, the Frankfort Commons Golf Course will host the Frankfort Hot Dog Alumni Golf Scramble for the fifth consecutive year. The Scramble will begin at 12:30 pm with a shotgun start.  More than one hundred alumni will tee off at noon and afterwards be invited to a Hall of Fame reception at 5 pm at Arborwood.

On Saturday, the 26th,, at 4:00 pm, the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held in the cafeteria at Frankfort High School. Besides Pearcy and Priest, the other inductees are Dr. Robert Carnahan and Larry McCoy. Matt Martin, Executive Director of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, will discuss the Special Recognition award winner, the Frankfort High School 1925 State Championship Basketball Team, on the 100th Anniversary of that achievement.
