Frankfort Hot Dog Festival Kicks Off In Two Weeks; Vendors May Still Apply For Booths

The 29th Annual Frankfort Hot Dog Festival is only two weeks away as it kicks off on Friday, July 26 with numerous activities ramping up throughout downtown Frankfort on Saturday, July 27, and vendors are still welcome to submit information to be considered for the festival.

The Frankfort Hot Dog Festival entertains community members from across the state every year, marking thousands of attendees during the two-day event spanning from Friday, July 26 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. through Saturday, July 27 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. in downtown Frankfort. Vendors line the streets around the square to sell their crafts, antiques and much more as swarms of festival attendees peruse the array of items for sale.

While the booth reservation form with a check was due by June 1 to secure a prime location during the festival, reservations made after July 4 must be completed online or paid with a money order. Reservations will still be accepted if space permits. 10-inch by 10-inch booths cost $110, 10-inch by 20-inch booths cost $150 and 10-inch by 30-inch booths cost $190 with access to electricity costing an extra amount depending on the amps required.

Booth set up will begin on Thursday, July 25 after 7 p.m., and vendors are reminded that due to downtown businesses still operating at the time of setup, a vehicle may be parked in the location needed, so vendors are encouraged to remain patient during the setup time. Vendors are also welcome to set up on the day of the Hot Dog Festival kickoff on Friday, July 26 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., and all vehicles must be removed from the festival area no later than 9 a.m. before the festival begins.

A mandatory vendor meeting is scheduled on Friday, July 26 at 10 a.m. at the Main Street Hot Dog Food Tent.

Booths must be anchored with a minimum of 40-pounds per leg, and the festival will not provide weights for the booth. If the booth is not properly secured to the satisfaction of the fire inspector, the booth will not be permitted to open for business until the matter is resolved. The booths are checked every evening.

The exact booth location will be available upon arrival at the festival, and information may be received at the Main Street information tent on the corner of Washington Street and Main Street by the large white tent. Main Street requests all booths to remain in position until the festival closes every day, and those that depart early without prior permission will not have their vendor application considered for future festivals.

A photograph of the booth showcasing the items that will be displayed must be included with the application. Vendors are not permitted to walk around selling items without the permission of Frankfort Main Street.
