Frankfort Police Department Release Information Regarding Second Suspect Vehicle For Stolen Birds Incident At TPA Park

The Frankfort Police Department released additional information regarding the theft that occurred at the TPA Park aviary on Sunday, June 9 where a reported nine birds, totaling around $30,000, were stolen from the aviary.

The Frankfort Police Department launched their investigation into the incident following reports from zookeepers at the Frankfort Parks Department who initially discovered a tear in the netting surrounding the enclosure after 9 a.m. on Sunday, and the photos of the nine birds have been released for the community to gain a visual to better search for the missing birds. The department stated that information regarding suspects will not be released to the public, including names and locations, but pertinent information that leads to the return of the birds may receive a $1,000 reward supported by members of the community.

The department additionally released photos of a vehicle spotted in the area during the timeframe of the incident, which was identified as a blue car pictured above. The department stated that the investigators released the photographs in an attempt to speak to the owner or driver of the vehicle. Any information regarding the vehicle may be forwarded to the department through the tip lines.

The department released information regarding a suspect vehicle on Tuesday evening, requesting community input on locating a vehicle present in a short video recorded on cameras at TPA Park where the vehicle was traveling through the park during the timeframe that the officers believe the incident occurred. The department stated that any community that recognizes the vehicle is encouraged to contact the department or submit an online report to aid in the investigation.

The department stated that the investigators believe that the vehicle is an older model of a Honda Odyssey, and officers confirmed that the investigators have begun to search owners of similar vehicle and employ a line of questioning for the owners of similar vehicles in an attempt to gain leads.
