Frankfort School Board Member Karen Sutton is Serving as Region 4 Director for ISBA

The Indiana School Boards Association announces new Officers and Directors.

Officers for 2023-2024 are:

President – Rebecca Gardenour, New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated Schools

1st Vice President – Steve Corona, Fort Wayne Community Schools

2nd Vice President – Wade Beatty, Charles A. Beard Memorial School Corporation

Past President – Tom Simpson, Yorktown Community Schools

New Directors for ISBA Region 4 and Region 10 are:

Region 4 – Karen Sutton, Community Schools of Frankfort

Region 10 – Joseph Basham, Silver Creek School Corporation

The new Officers and Directors took office on September 26.

Gardenour has served on the New Albany-Floyd County school board since 2004 and has been a member of the ISBA Board of Directors since 2017.

Corona has been on the Fort Wayne school board since 1981 and the ISBA Board of Directors since 2018.

Beatty joined the school board of the Charles A. Beard Memorial School Corporation in 2006 and has been a member of the ISBA Board of Directors since 2019.

Simpson has been a member of the school board of the Yorktown Community Schools since 2005 and has been on ISBA’s Board of Directors since 2014.

Sutton has been on the Community Schools of Frankfort school board since 2014. Region 4 encompasses 12 counties in West Central Indiana.

Basham has served on his local school board since 2006, initially as a member of the school board of the West Clark Community Schools, then with the Silver Creek School Corporation, after West Clark split. Region 10 encompasses 16 counties in southeastern Indiana.

The Indiana School Boards Association was established in 1949 and today serves all 290 school boards in the state.
