The Frankfort Street Department has closed its doors until further notice for the recycling center as a result of flammable and combustible chemicals being deposited at the department earlier today.

Frankfort Street Department Superintendent Jason Forsythe announced that the Street Department would be closed until further knowledge as fire personnel and other first responders were requested to address the presence of flammable and combustible chemicals that were deposited at the recycling center.

Forsythe issued a reminder that the Frankfort Recycling Center does not allow flammable or combustible chemicals to be dropped off at the department. Forsythe continued to state that the materials are potentially hazardous for the employees and those visiting the facility.
