Frankfort Youth Baseball Hosts Free Off Season Clinic Beginning Sept. 8

The Frankfort Youth Baseball League announced that the fall ball season will not be available for the community this year; however, the youth league team has devised an alternative with a free five-week baseball clinic.

The league announced that in the place of the fall league, the youth of Frankfort have been invited to improve their skills, have fun and learn from experienced coaches in the Frankfort Youth Baseball Off Season Clinic set to kick off Sept. 8 at Lawrence Ferrell/East Side Park at 560 N. Crescent Dr. in Frankfort.

The clinic has been designed to address skill drills, such as hitting, fielding and base running, fun games, such as activities designed to improve teamwork and baseball fundaments, and expert coaching, such as tips and tricks from seasoned players and coaches.

During the clinic, participants should bring a baseball glove, comfortable sportswear, a water bottle and a positive attitude.

Sessions Offered:

  • Sept. 8
  • Sept. 15
  • Sept. 22
  • Sept. 29
  • Oct. 6

For participants ages five through eight, the clinic will run from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., and for ages nine through 12, the clinic will run from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The clinic will be free, but the league stated that free will donations will be accepted for the upkeep and maintenance of the field.

“We will accept free will donations to help with field upkeep and maintenance,” the league released. “A liability waiver will need to be signed before your child is eligible to participate.”

Registration is not required for the clinic, but parents may inquire about the clinic by contacting John Eason at 765-242-3758.

Sponsorship opportunities for the clinic are also available where sponsors who donate $100 or more will have their logos placed on the backs of the shirts, and the league will publicly thank all sponsors and donors.
