As the change of season approaches, community members are encouraged to take proactive steps toward safety—especially when it comes to preventing falls. A special Fall Prevention Workshop, led by longtime physical therapist Garry Gumazing, will be held on December 3 at 1 p.m. at the Paul Phillippe Resource Center, located at 401 W. Walnut St., Frankfort, IN.
Hosted with appreciation to the Fowler House for extending the invitation, this workshop aims to help attendees understand the do’s and don’ts of staying safe during the months when fall risks tend to increase.
Garry, who has been practicing physical therapy for 31 years, will cover several key topics, including:
-
Common causes of falls
-
Risk factors that increase fall likelihood
-
Whether falls are a normal part of aging
-
Practical steps to reduce fall risk
-
Simple preventive measures everyone can implement
The presentation is designed to be both educational and empowering, offering clear, actionable guidance to help individuals stay steady, confident, and safe.
