Mr. George S. Sigler, 83, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. He was born in Frankfort, on June 9, 1941, a son of the late Al Sigler and Loraine (Hobson) Sigler.
George was a 1959 graduate from Thorntown High School.
On January 13, 1967, he was married to Martha M. (Wethington) Sigler in Colfax; Mrs. Sigler survives. They shared 57 wonderful years together.
George dedicated his life to his family and his community. He was the proud owner of Sigler’s Restaurant, a local business he operated alongside his loving wife, from 1959-2019. George and his son John worked as vendors at both the NASCAR and IndyCar events for 12 years.
George was a member of Masonic Lodge #609 in Mechanicsburg, Scottish Rite in Indianapolis, Murat Shriners in Indianapolis, and Frankfort Eagles Lodge #976. As a young child he would ring the bell at the Mechanicsburg Christian Church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, riding snowmobiles and boating.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Sigler of Thorntown; son, John M. Sigler of Crawfordsville; sisters-in-law, Ann Albaugh of New Market, Indiana and Kathy (John) Cross of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Jo Sigler; two half-brothers, Jerry (Delores) Anderson and Ned (Sally) Burroughs; one half-sister; sister-in-law, Connie Lamar; brother-in-law, Larry Albaugh; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street in Lebanon, Indiana. Funeral Services are planned for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the funeral home. Interment will follow services at Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort, Indiana.
Memorials may be made in George’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
