Gladys “Nan” Ann Johnson, age 59, of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly at home. Born on March 23, 1966, Nan was a devoted sister, beloved aunt and cousin, and cherished friend whose presence lit up every room.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Martha (Marti) Johnson, Karla Johnson, and her parents, Lyle and Lesta Sue Johnson.
Nan is survived by sister, Darla Johnson; nieces, Charity Johnson and Holly Johnson; nephew, Gregory Johnson; a large, loving extended family including, uncle Howard (Judy) Shirling; aunt Sharon (Terry) Finney; dear cousins, Motie (Dione) Finney, Teri (Matt) Rigdon, Clay (Christine) Finney, Nicole (Shawn) Thompson, Rebecca (Anthony) Dangelo, Samantha (Cody) Chapman, and Cristy Shirling; and all of their children. She had a special relationship with many of her cousins, treating all of them as siblings or children more than cousins.
Her career as a hair stylist was one of the great joys of her life—not only for her creativity but for the relationships she built with each of her clients over the years. Nan had a deep love for 4-H and took great pride in serving as a judge at dog shows, where her compassion and fairness shone through.
A devoted Christian, she dedicated much of her time and heart to her church, the First Baptist Church in Lebanon, Indiana. Her faith guided her life, and she gave selflessly to those around her.
Nan was the heart of every family gathering. She was famous for her cooking, her warmth, and her endless love. She was an avid reader and loved to share all of the stories she read. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and always put them first. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the many lives she touched.
Celebration of Life will be held on 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Service will be led by Pastor Jacob Finney. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services.
