Harney Elementary School students rose to the occasion to support those in need and honor those who served last week for Veteran’s Day activities and participating in a food drive.
The students of Harney Elementary had an impactful week last week, beginning with honoring veterans for Veteran’s Day before celebrating World Kindness Day and realizing the true meaning of being kind to others. The students concluded the week by celebrating over 2,000 food items that were collected and donated to the neighborhood food pantry.
Mrs. Hammel, Mrs. Jeffries, Mrs. Mendoza, Mr. Farrell, and Dr. Dye filled their cars and headed over after school.
Mrs. Boyett’s class won the challenge with 354 food items.
