The Indiana Department of Transportation announced that temporary lane closures on State Road 47 near Thorntown will begin taking
effect on Thursday, May 9.
The department stated that temporary lane closures on State Road 47 near Thorntown between Front Street and Evans Road will begin taking effect on or after Thursday, May 9 as westbound lanes will be closed on State Road 47 initially. Following the work in the westbound lane, the eastbound lane will close for continued construction in the area.
During the closures, construction crews will be conducting bridge rehabilitation over Prairie Creek, and the work is expecting to last until the summer with weather permitting.
The department encouraged drivers to slow down and use caution in the work zone during the construction.
