The Boone County Chamber of Commerce is proud to present Job Fair Plus presented by Lilly on Thursday, September 18, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds – Witham Pavilion.
More than a traditional job fair, Job Fair Plus offers a welcoming, accessible environment where job seekers can explore open positions, meet face-to-face with employers, and connect with community resources that support long-term career success.
“Job Fair Plus is more than a traditional job fair,” said Sean Reaves, Executive Director of the Boone County Chamber of Commerce. “It’s an intentional space where job seekers can not only find employment opportunities but also connect with resources that remove barriers to success—like transportation, childcare, and upskilling.”
This year’s event also takes place alongside Community Foundation of Boone County’s Volunteer Fair during the same time frame, just steps away from the job fair. This gives attendees the chance to explore local volunteer opportunities, deepen their community involvement, and build valuable connections—whether they’re seeking full-time work, part-time service, or ways to re-engage professionally.
“We understand that finding a job is just one part of the puzzle,” said Shawna Lake, Board Vice President and Chairperson of the Chamber’s Community Connections Committee. “Job Fair Plus was created to bridge that gap—connecting individuals with both employment opportunities and the support systems they need to thrive. Adding the Volunteer Fair to the mix only strengthens that impact.”
What to Expect:
● Open access to employers hiring in healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, education, public service, and more
● On-the-spot interviews and resume assistance
● Second Chance, Veteran, and Multilingual Employers
● Access to local nonprofits and community organizations providing transportation, childcare, and career training resources
● A nearby Volunteer Fair presented by Community Foundation of Boone County with nonprofits and service organizations offering a variety of ways to get involved in Boone County
● Free admission for all attendees
