John Rae Hoffman, 72, of Lebanon, Indiana passed away Friday, March 21, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born November 22, 1952, in Lebanon, a son of the late Barbara Ann (Salsman) and Phillip “Tuffy” Hoffman, Jr.
He had previously been married to Debbie (Parker) and Connie Jo (Pratt).
A life resident of Lebanon, John was a 1971 graduate of Lebanon High School and had spent one year at Vincennes University where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. John worked concrete construction for Ernsting Construction of Indianapolis from 1987–1992 when he retired. After retirement, John owned and operated Fin’s Café at Lebanon Memorial Park. He worked concessions with Ronnie Smith at the Indiana State Fair and also worked the Weenie Wagon for the Fourth of July parade at the Lebanon High School.
He was a member of the Terre Haute Labor and Hod Carrier Union, Local #204. John loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was a devoted father and grandfather who loved his family dearly.
Survivors include his daughters, Courtney M. Hoffman of Lebanon and Christy M. Hoffman of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Darian Fox, Logan Owens, Haleigh Miller, Brayden Owens, Gabbi Owens, and Carly Jo Hayes; great grandchildren, Phoenix Rae Fox and Kinsley Pugh; sisters, Jean A. Hoffman of Lebanon and JoAnne (Dale) Fisher of Jamestown; niece, Melissa Berry; nephews, Joseph Fisher and Phillip Wall; caregivers and friends, Gail Culley and Brian Gregg; and his friend that was like a sister, Dena Shoemaker.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Kay Wall and brother, Jim Kremer.
Funeral Services are planned for 2:00 p.m., on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of services. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
