Jonathan Ray McKinney, 49, formerly of Frankfort, passed away August 30, 2025 in Richmond, Virginia. He was born on September 30, 1975 in Lebanon, Indiana to Billy Ray and Patricia Marie (Bryant) McKinney, and they survive.
Jon graduated from a Christian Church School and attended Ivy Tech. He was a truck driver. He enjoyed 80’s rock music and was a lover of “funky and nerdy” things – especially Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. He was also a collector of hats and shoes and loved banjos and bluegrass.
Surviving along with his parents of Monterey, TN, are his daughters: Victoria (Michael) Harris of Indianapolis, IN, Vanessa McKinney of Frankfort, IN, and Veanna McKinney of Frankfort, IN, his fiancé: Jayne Knight of Smithville, TN, grandchildren: Emmaline and Sebastian Bybee, siblings: Daniel (Della) McKinney of Florida and Lisa McKinney of Delphi, IN.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Sugar Plain Cemetery in Thorntown, Indiana. Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S.
