Judith Lynn Ledgerwood-Lewis

Judith Lynn Ledgerwood-Lewis passed away on March 9, 2026, following a long and difficult health journey. She was born on November 18, 1948, in Indianapolis, to Roy O. Anderson and Edna O. (Martin) Anderson.

Judy grew up in Danville and later spent much of her life in Clinton County where she lived on a small farm with riding horses. Rural life suited her well and reflected her deep love for animals, especially her quarter horses. Judy was known for her vibrant personality. She had a fiery nature and a unique sense of humor that made her unforgettable to those who knew her. Beneath that strong exterior was a deeply loving woman who cared fiercely for her family and friends.

On November 14, 1997, she married Richard Lewis in Frankfort. Judy was a loving wife, and a devoted mother to her beloved son, Ryan Ledgerwood. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sisters, Marlene Kay Morphew and Barbara Anderson. She is survived by her brother Richard Anderson, her sister Patsy Harding, and her stepson, stepdaughter, several grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Throughout her life Judy pursued work that allowed her to connect with and support others. She worked as a real estate agent and later as a job coach with Ability Services where she took pride in helping individuals with special needs grow and succeed. After retirement she continued doing what she loved by working at Ginger & Spice, a women’s clothing boutique in Avon (Prestwick), where her appreciation for fashion, style, and fragrances made her a natural fit.

Judy had an eye for beauty and a love for the things that brought joy to her life-especially her son Ryan and husband Richard. She also enjoyed animals, the outdoors, riding horses, motorcycling with Ryan, and all things fashion, jewelry and personal style. Those who knew her will remember her as a quirky lady with a firecracker personality and a presence that could light up a room. She was beautiful both inside and out.

Though her final years brought many challenges, Judy faced them with remarkable strength and determination. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace and free from pain. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
