Judy K. Hedge

Judy Kay Hedge, 83, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026, at her home in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born May 9, 1943, in Lebanon, a daughter of the late Herschel and Helen Gibbs.

She is survived by her husband, Larry D. Hedge. They were married on January 22, 1960, and shared 66 beautiful years of marriage.

Judy was a homemaker with many talents including sewing, cake baking/decorating, and enjoyed being a part of the extension homemakers for many years. She was also the bookkeeper for her and Larry’s farm operation and spent many days on the farm equipment. Together, Larry and Judy raised a family and grew their farming operation. Judy cooked many delicious meals, amazing desserts, and loved caring for her family. Some of her family’s favorite dishes: homemade noodles, rhubarb crunch and grape jelly. She often watched her grandchildren and then great-grandchildren. If there was a baby in a room, Judy was always near and she loved rocking all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and playing with them as they grew older. Judy also loved sunshine, flowers/gardening, and shopping. She enjoyed hymns and playing the organ for decades at Fairview Christian Church. Watching her family and church members come to accept Jesus as their savior was her greatest joy in life. In her final days, she had told her family she “was ready to meet Jesus” and we know that is where she is now.

Survivors include her children, Janie (Brian) Pickett, Ken (Chrisy) Hedge, and Brenda (Kent) Waitt; grandchildren, Jeremy (Brenda) Haughey, Lorinda (Tyler) Clements, Carrie Ann (Tyler) Richardson, Matthew Hedge, Kendra (John) Chastain, Kayla (Jacob) Tobias, and Kelsie (Tyler) McFauls; great grandchildren, Ace Haughey, Ella Haughey, Emery Clements, Logan Clements, Colton Richardson, Luke Richardson, Lainey Richardson, Kadence Tobias, Kenzie Tobias, Kayley Tobias, Samuel Chastain, Mason Chastain, and Kolsen McFauls; her twin brother, Rudy Gibbs; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her son, Jeff Hedge; siblings, Grace Morton, Virginia Cragun, Linda Heaton, and Eula Mallery; great-grandchildren, Joshua Haughey, Ethan Richardson, Lilly Chastain, and Grace Chastain.
