A 700 Acre data center valued at up to 10 billion dollars and consuming as much as 600 Megawatts of power has been proposed for the Frankfort area by Logistix Property Group recently. If this data center becomes a reality, it would be one of the largest data centers in the United States.
Available information to date indicates this proposed center would be transformational for the Frankfort/Clinton County area. The question is…In the long run, will Frankfort/Clinton County be better off with this new Data Center or not?
Jobs, Property Taxes, Land Use, Water Consumption, New Electrical Infrastructure, Housing, New Light Pollution, Assessed Valuation, Property Values, Dependability of our Domestic and Industrial Electricity and Water Supply, Public Say on Determining Our Future….all these things and more are in the balance.
While we don’t get ahead by standing still, this is a time to “Take our Time”. We need to figure this out and get answers to many questions. Then, and only then, can we come up with the right answer.
Let’s slow down, think, gather and process the information.
After we do this, the right answer will likely be more and more obvious, one way or the other.
