Community members have been invited to attend the annual Día De Muertos Gala Fundraiser hosted by the Learning Network of Clinton County in support of the Open Door Clinic on Friday, Nov. 1.
The event will kick off Friday, Nov. 1 with doors opening at 6 p.m. at 2574 IN 39 in Frankfort. This year’s gala will act as a masked ball, and attendees should dress formally or business casually to align with the atmosphere.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, beginning at 3 p.m. and ending at 6 p.m., for face painting for the gala. Face painting will be free and operate on a first come, first served basis.
Mexican food options will be offered from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. as the Learning Network team prepares for their presentation from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., which may feature students from the organization’s programs.
The dance floor opens from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. for attendees to showcase their moves and grooves.
This year’s gala is set to support the Open Door Health Clinic, which provides free or discounted health services to Clinton County residents who qualify. Free medical services may be available for adults and children with chronic illnesses, minor injuries, physicals and other examinations. Additional services offered by the clinic include advocacy to assist with connections to other social services within the community, Spanish interpreters and medication assistance programs.
Indiana Minority Health Coalition addresses health disparities through research, training, education, and advocacy, for better access to quality health care services. Educational sessions, screenings, and other interventions are just a few of the programs that we offer to help minimize the risk for heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and other health conditions that can inhabit your ability to lead a long productive life.
