Lebanon Community School Corporation announced that the second iteration of the Tiger Community Ambassadors Program is set to begin in October and extend through May.

The Tiger Community Ambassadors Program recently graduated its first class of community ambassadors in May following a year of instruction and activities to introduce community members to the interworking of the school. The project is designed to introduce a select amount of community leaders and school district parents to facets of the corporation they may not have the opportunity to explore to gain a deeper understanding of the school and district operations.

the program intends to expose the participants to facets of running a school district, including school finance, academics, student services, operations and more. The participants will be given the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge about the corporation’s daily and yearly functions, experience the different schools during the day as the students are actively learning, engage in dialogues with members of the leadership team to discuss educational operational issues and develop an understanding of the district’s anticipated growth and its impact on planning for the future.

“It is our hope that Ambassador graduates will share LCSC’s vision throughout our school community,” the district released. “We will turn to our Ambassador graduates for insight as we plan capital and operational improvements.”

For the class running during the 2024-2025 school year, the membership will be limited to 12 members with eight class sessions that meet from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. depending on the session.
