Lebanon Police Searching for Suspect in Shooting

Lebanon Police Department Detectives have identified 53-year-old Mark Wayne Wilburn as a person of interest in the shooting of Michael L. Maxwell that occurred on the night of Monday.

It is believed Wilburn will be driving a red in color 2013 Chevy Silverado with Indiana truck plate number TK580NOU. If you see or have any information on Wilburn’s location, please contact your local Police Department or call 911. Do attempt to approach Mr. Wilburn as he is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Maxwell is currently in stable condition at an Indianapolis area hospital.

The Lebanon Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 800 Block of Cohen Street in Lebanon on Monday around 7 p.m.

At approximately 7:04 p.m., Officers were dispatched to the 800 Block of Cohen Street in Lebanon for a male subject that was suffering from a gunshot wound. Prior to the arrival of Officers, the subject was transported from the scene and taken to Witham Health Services Emergency Room. The victim has been identified as Michael L. Maxwell, 29 of Lebanon. Maxwell was transferred to a hospital in Indianapolis, where he is being treated for a gunshot wound to the chest.

Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators are continuing to process the scene where this shooting took place and are interviewing witnesses. It is believed that this began as a verbal altercation between Mr. Maxwell and another male.
