Linda Jean Summers, 79, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 3, 1946, in Dayton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Jack W. and Denelden (Jones) Owens.
Linda was raised and educated in Ohio and soon after she moved to Indiana.
On December 15, 1967, she was united in marriage to Francis Marshall “Frank” Summers in Boone County, Indiana. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2014.
Linda was a dedicated housewife and homemaker. She enjoyed babysitting for many kids throughout the years. She loved her family dearly and delighted in going shopping and taking drives around town. Can’t forget singing to Patsy Cline. Linda also enjoyed taking weekend trips to Ohio.
Survivors include her two children, Elissa D. Summers of Jamestown and William C. “Bill” (Megan) Summers of Lebanon; seven grandchildren, Kamron Downey, Preston Summers, Harlow Miller, Lyric Summers, Sylas Rascoe, Saylor Klooz, and Ledger Vance; brother, George Owens of Ohio; sister, Alma Creigh of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Linda was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger Owens and John Owens, and a sister, Leslie Johnston.
Private Graveside Services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her arrangements.
