A Clinton Prairie student is seeking donations of pop tabs until May for Riley Children’s hospital in honor of her younger sister, Kinley, to raise funds for the organization.
Kaydence Kesler, and eighth grade student at Clinton Prairie, is currently collecting pop tabs for Riley Children’s Hospital in honor of Kinley, who has received two major brain surgeries to repair an arteriovenous malformation while at Riley in 2019.
According to the United Way for Clinton County, the pop tabs are exchanged for donation funds that are intended to help families with children at Riley pay for hotel stays, gift cards, food and gas while their children are being taken care of at the facility.
The United Way stated that a five gallon bucket of pop tabs is worth around $75, and one pound consists of around 1,128 pop tabs, which means that a bucket needs around 47,038 to be filled for the conversion to donations.
“Kaydence needs your help in reaching her goal to give back to the Riley Team that helped her sister and their family during their time there,” the United Way released.
Pop tabs for the cause may be dropped off at Clinton Prairie High School at 2400 S. County Road 450 W. in Frankfort, Simply K Salon at 701 E. Walnut St. in Frankfort and United Way for Clinton County at 1234 Rossville Ave. in Frankfort.
