Main Street Zionsville announced today, March 6 that the organization officially receive the Main Street designation from Indiana Main Street and the Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
The Indiana Main Street program is intended to support local communities by helping to enhance historic districts, promote small businesses and improve the quality of life for residents and visitors. The designation provides the Zionsville organization with access to resources and expertise to implement targeted strategies with the intention to strengthen Zionsville’s economic vitality.
Main Street Zionsville Board President Erica Carpenter commented about the organization’s receipt of the prestigious recognition.
“Receiving the Main Street designation is more than just a title; it represents a collective effort in creating a vibrant, livable space for everyone,” Carpenter said. “This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our local stakeholders, including businesses, residents, volunteers and organizations that share our vision for a thriving downtown.”
The organization stated that it is already working to enhance the visual appeal of the downtown area, support local businesses, facilitate community events and draw visitors to foster a sense of pride and ownership among residents.
Indiana Main Street, in partnership with Main Street America, evaluate the performance of Main Street organizations to identify organizations that meet rigorous performance standards. OCRA Executive Director Fred Glynn commented about the eight new communities that have joined and the six organizations that have received further recognitions.
“As we celebrate 40 years of Indiana Main Street, we are excited to welcome eight new communities into the program and see six organizations level up,” Glynn said. “The Indiana Main Street program continues to grow and help communities prioritize downtown revitalization, transform their main street corridors and fuel local engagement. Congratulations to our 15 newly designated main street organizations.”
