Marilyn J. Babcock, 92, of Jamestown, Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. She was born on December 3, 1932, in Jamestown. Marilyn was the only child to the late William E. and Sylvia M. (Toney) Huffman.
She graduated from Jamestown High School in May of 1950. On August 8, 1952, Marilyn married the love of her life, Donald R. Babcock in Jamestown.
Marilyn worked for the Indiana State Board of Health’s communicable disease department for many years.
She was a member of the Jamestown Christian Church. Marilyn loved her Lord, family, mowing the yard, tending to her flowers, woodworking, and cooking. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 73 years, Don Babcock; daughter, Kimberly K. (companion, Fred Osborn) Mitchell of Jamestown; grandsons, Robert (Jeanne) Mitchell of New Ross, Tristan (Lindsey) Mitchell of Jamestown, and Sean (Christina) Mitchell of Jamestown; step grandson, Kevin Mitchell of Pittsboro; five great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; and two step great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services are planned for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Jamestown Christian Church, 900 North Lebanon Street, in Jamestown, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Jamestown. Porter and Hunt Funeral Home in Jamestown have been entrusted with her arrangements.
