Marilyn Jane Thomson Bishop, Flora, Indiana, died September 22, 2026. She was born January 20, 1931, on the family farm in Madison Township, Carroll County, Indiana to James N. Thomson and Alma Kearns Thomson.
Jane was a graduate of Flora High School and Stephens College for Women, Columbia, Missouri. She was a life member of the Flora Presbyterian Church. In 1951, she married Dick Norton Bishop who predeceased her February 7, 2022.
She is survived by her son Dick Thomson Bishop, wife Melissa, of Flora; grandchildren Arthur Dick Bishop of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and James Thomson Bishop of Albuquerque, New Mexico; great-grandchildren Dinah Moon Bishop and Charles Waller Bishop; her son Peter Daniel Bishop, wife Stephanie, of West Lafayette, Indiana, and the children of his wife Victoria Lentz Hood, husband Noah, and Andrew Lentz, and granddaughter Tabitha Hood.
She was proceeded in death by her sisters Betty Vianco, Helen Smith, and Catherine Smith.
There will be no visitation. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Flora Depot Museum, or the Flora Thrift Shop. Day Genda Funeral Home is assisting the family.
