Mrs. Martha Willard, 90, passed away at her home in Lebanon, Indiana on August 18, 2025. She was born in Chepachet, Rhode Island, on June 3, 1935, a daughter of the late Robert Ernest and Mary (Sayles) Steere.
On June 22, 1957, she married Ralph Willard in Chepachet; he survives.
Martha received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She volunteered her time as a treasurer for the hospital auxiliary and gift shop in Bedford, Indiana and Habitat for Humanity.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Martha was an avid Bridge player, and she enjoyed bowling.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph Willard; children, Jonathan R. (Susan) Willard of Zionsville, Deborah W. (Gordon) Smith of Ohio, and David L. (Theresa) Willard of Westfield; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her brother, Robert E. Steere Jr.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the First Presbyterian Church, 128 East Main Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. A reception will follow services until 3:30 p.m. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her care.
