
A woman of immense grace and kindness, Mary was born on January 23, 1938, in London, Kentucky to the late William and Nancy (Johnson) Thomas. From a young age she possessed a spirit of strength that would define her entire life.
She graduated from Ladoga High School in 1956. She married Ray Strange in 1956, they later divorced. Mary later married Walter (Junior) Fairfield in 1966, they later divorced.
She spent her career as a machine operator at RR Donnelley for 37 years, she retired in 2000. After retirement Mary worked at the Jamestown IGA in the deli to keep busy. In her free time, she enjoyed bingo, bird watching, coloring, and family time.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Barbara Lowery and Michelle (Mike) Lee. Her cherished grandchildren, Justin (Jennifer) Lowery, Ashley (David Faurote) Hites, Derek and Brandon Hites. She adored her great grandchildren, Nickolas, Brennden, and Resse Busenbark, Michaelee (Austin), Aubrie, and Bryley Cratty, Logan and Caidon Hites, and Morgan and Gabe Faurote. They were all the light of her later years. She leaves behind four brothers, Everett, David, Donnie, and Ricky. Along with sisters, Betty and Sue.
She was proceeded in death by the love of her life, Howard Emberton; grandson, Larry Lowery; and brothers, Ernest, Joe, and Bill.
The family would like to thank her amazing hospice staff for their compassionate care in her final days.
