Max Ruch Pletch, 94, of rural Frankfort, Ind., died October 12, 2023 at his home. He was born April 26, 1929 in Clinton County to Frank Elgin & Mary Grace (Ruch) Pletch. He married Zillah M. Padgett on September 9, 1947 and she preceded him in death on November 9, 2020 after 73 years of marriage.
Max was a 1947 graduate of Jackson High School. He had worked at Ushco, retired from Allisons in Indianapolis and then after retirement, worked at Co-Alliance. He was a member of the Antioch Church. Max enjoyed motorcycling, travel, wood working and gardening. He was active in Scouting, was a Boy Scout leader and Cub Scout Leader and was formerly Assistant District Commissioner for the Scouts.
He will be missed by his son: Steven Pletch of rural Frankfort, daughters: Cynthia (Berni) Pletch of Summerfield, FL, Nikki Malloy of Daytona Beach, FL, Jennifer (Rick) Edmondson of rural Frankfort, brothers: John Pletch of Lafayette, Fred Pletch of Frankfort, William “Bill” (Sheryl) Pletch of Frankfort, sister: Jacquelyn Williams of Frankfort, 6 grandchildren: Shawn (Jennifer) Pletch, Curtis (Emily) Edmondson, Elizabeth Stankard, Brandon Malloy, Derick Edmondson and Megan (Jacob) Smith, 12 great-grandchildren: Amilla and Aidan Pletch, Makaila and Abigail Summers, Cole, Noralee, Neilen, and Ettalyn Edmondson, Maximus & Harrison Malloy and Noland and Nathan Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, sister, Marilyn Snellenbarger, sister-in-law Lynnette Pletch and brother-in-law, Fred Williams
Funeral Services:
Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. October 22, 2023 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Family services will be held on Monday. Grandson, Curtis Edmondson will officiate. Entombment will be in Green Lawn Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to Clinton County Cancer Fund.
