A former sheriff in Clinton County is throwing his hat into the ring for that same position, hoping to be elected again. Mark Mitchell officially placed his name on the Republican Primary ballot for sheriff this past Wednesday. Mitchell cites his “successful prior 8 year term” and his “leadership style for voters” as reasons he believes he is the right man for the job.. Mitchell has also sat on county council for 6 years and has served with numerous community organizations in the past.
