Most of Indiana Under Winter Weather Advisory Through 9 P.M. This Evening

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of central, east central, north central, south central, southeast, southwest and west central Indiana from 10 a.m. Friday morning through 9 p.m. Friday night. Snow is expected with total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches with isolated snow amounts to 5 inches are possible.

Counties affected are Bartholomew, Boone, Brown, Carroll, Clay, Clinton, Daviess, Decatur, Delaware, Fountain, Greene, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, Knox, Lawrence, Madison, Marion, Martin, Monroe, Montgomery, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, Sullivan, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Vermillion, Vigo and Warren counties.

Snow will develop late this morning and becoming widespread midday through the early evening. This will result in slippery, snow covered roads and surfaces resulting in a difficult evening rush hour.

Motorists are reminded to slow and use caution while traveling. Allow extra time to reach your destination. When driving keep extra stopping distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you.
