Multiple Fire Departments Respond to Large Fire in Carroll County

A difficult day for the Carroll County community brought together firefighters, emergency personnel, businesses and residents as multiple departments responded to a significant structure fire.

Ten fire departments from two counties worked together at the scene. Responding departments included Burlington, Burrows, Camden, Delphi and Flora, along with Cass County Fire District, Clymers, Logansport and Young America.

Carroll County EMS, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, Flora Police Department, Carroll County Dispatch and Carroll County Emergency Management also assisted with the response.

Firefighters worked for hours in the heat, receiving support from community members who brought water to the scene. Deer Creek Presbyterian Church opened its doors to provide firefighters with a place to cool down and rehab.

Giddeon’s Trucking also assisted by bringing an excavator to the scene, helping firefighters gain access to areas of the building during the operation.

The response highlighted the cooperation of emergency departments, local businesses and residents who stepped up when help was needed.

Thoughts are with the business owner, employees and their families as they deal with the loss.

The Carroll County Emergency Management Team would like to extend a thank you to everyone who answered the call, provided equipment or supplies, opened their doors, or found another way to assist during the response.
